Response to Covid-19
Following the Education Secretary’s announcement, Inclusion Hampshire had to delay its on-site re-opening for the Spring term – providing remote and online learning during this week.
We are delighted to announce that from Wednesday 13 January, we will be able to offer some on-site, face to face learning across both sites.
Inclusion Learning Centre (ILC) will be able to offer sessions three times each week. This will be on Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays with the remaining two days offering remote learning and welfare support (if your child’s timetable is usually 4 or 5 days).
Inclusion College (IC) for two days a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays plus the normal music and art session on a Friday if they normally attend this. Remote learning will be provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Matt and Marie have emailed parents/carers with further details and information on a revised timetable.
This format will continue until February half term (notwithstanding any unforeseen circumstances)
If you did not respond to the survey or said that you did not want your child to attend, but have subsequently changed your mind, the soonest your child will be able to attend is Monday 18 January but we will need to be informed as soon as possible.
We have also heard from transport providers that they are able to continue during the national lockdown. Therefore, if you were previously receiving transport this will be able to continue.
We will continue to be delivering remote learning using Google Classroom and making welfare calls to all our learners. Phone calls from tutors will be from a hidden number (‘no caller ID’) so please let them know to expect this.
All learners have had the opportunity to access Google Classroom with a tutor during their sessions since September in order to enable them to log in and learn successfully for this eventuality.
If there is anything our team can do to support you, or you have any questions or concerns about the new term, please contact us by email or call the Inclusion Hampshire mobile number 07497 173861 or the office on 01256 760 800.
We shall continue to post any updates on our website and via our social media channels as well as email to parents and carers.
We are implementing asymptomatic testing for staff and learners. This will help us to identify those who are Covid-positive but do not present with symptoms. This will enable them to isolate safely at home whilst close contacts are tested for seven days to ensure that they are not also Covid-positive.
Testing is not for those who present with Covid-19 symptoms or any illness. If your child presents with any symptoms please keep them at home, book a test and self-isolate until you receive the result.
We are strongly encouraging all learners to be tested on site. They will need to do this themselves but staff can support them to do this safely.
Guidance on how the test will be performed and some photos of our new look testing areas as well as our team in PPE will can be found on this page.
We have sent out a consent form – please do ensure this has been returned to us at Inclusion
Please be aware that if your child tests positive for Covid-19 after having received a test at Inclusion Hampshire it is your responsibility to collect them, even if they have other transport arrangements. When making your decision about whether you would like your child to attend this will no doubt be an important consideration.
If you have any further questions or concerns please contact us we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Email us in confidence, complete your details & the appropriate inclusion Team member will get back to you.
