Schools Diversity Week 2021

This week is  Schools Diversity Week.  This is a fantastic way to make Inclusion a happier and more welcoming for pupils who may be LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans) or have LGBT+ families.

At Inclusion we believe in equality – that means that we believe everyone is equal and should be treated the same, with respect and kindness.  That is why it is so important to us to mark these events and help us to learn more about each other regardless of age, disability, race, religion or belief, gender reassignment, sex or sexual orientation.

This week our learners will be exploring more about diversity and what that actually means to them, looking more at the history of the LGBTQ+ community, meanings behind the Rainbow and Progress Flag, looking at advocates and allies and creating some of our own work around this.

As always, we’ll be sharing learner work on our website and helping to ensure the important message of diversity within Inclusion is marked. This will culminate in a celebration of diversity with Rainbow Thursday – when staff and learners will come in wearing rainbow colours to show our support (we may even have cake). Pictures definitely to follow!
