Inclusion have a bespoke, adaptable and empowering curriculum

Inclusion Hampshire has developed a bespoke, adaptable and empowering curriculum for its learners based on 10 years of experience working with young people with mental health needs, ASC and behavioural trauma.

For the learners who attend Inclusion Hampshire, mainstream education has not been suitable, causing anxiety, school refusal and a breakdown in relationships. Our curriculum is designed to rebuild a positive educational experience.

Following Covid-19, Barry Carpenter has developed the idea of a ‘Recovery Curriculum’ following the societal trauma following the pandemic. Inclusion Hampshire has long had its own recovery curriculum based on our experience of working with young people with mental health needs, historic trauma and negative educational experiences and it is a core tenet of our ethos.

At Inclusion Hampshire we want to be part of the movement that creates an equal society for everyone and our curriculum also reflects this value.

NOCN Level 1 Award in Personal Well-being

We are delighted to announce that in addition to our Life Skills and wellbeing sessions, we are now also working towards L1 Qualifications in Personal Well-being.

This qualification has been structured to ensure that learning is evidenced across the five key concepts: Personal identities; Healthy Lifestyles; Relationships; Risk; Diversity.

The qualifications aim to increase learners’ knowledge of the society in which they live and will work, providing them with the knowledge and skills to make balanced and increasingly independent transitions both now and in later life.

The qualifications will develop knowledge of personal and social development including personal relationships, values and beliefs, equality and diversity in society, mental and physical well-being, as well as the concept of risk and ways to manage and reduce risk, thus enabling learners to make positive and informed choices in their lives.

Units studied include:
• Beliefs and values
• Developing confidence and self esteem
• Healthy Lifestyle
• Recognising and dealing with bullying
• Understanding body image
• Understanding feelings and emotions
• Understanding risk
